Summary: Inuyasha has run off to Kikyo yet again. Miroku sets off to find Kagome and comfort her. Will it turn into something more? Written in Miroku's POV.

Yet again Inuyasha had broken Lady Kagome’s heart by running off to Kikyo. She is one of the best things that has happened to this group, and Inuyasha fails to recognize this.

I set out to look for her. I find her at the base of the sacred tree where she seems deep in thought.

“Am I not good enough Miroku? Am I ugly?”

A part of me wants to take her, and tell her how exactly how much I find her attractive but figure now is not the time to voice my perverse thoughts.

“No, Lady Kagome, I happen to find you quite beautiful, much like the rest of the village men.”

“Then why is it, the one man I truly care for won’t give me a second glance?”

“I hardly would say he doesn’t find you attractive”

She just stared at me with a blank look in her eyes for a while, and then the unexpected happened. She kissed me.

I kissed her back full force, and soon we found ourselves on the forest floor clothes discarded. I’ve been with many women, but none beautiful like Kagome, and none that I had any true feelings for.

My hands roamed her small frame, and just before I was going to penetrate, she stopped me.

“No, I can’t do this. I care for our friendship as well as mine and Sango’s. I’m sorry”

She put her clothes back on, as did I, and we both agreed never to speak of the act again, but before we left to return to camp, she gave me one last kiss and we held each other for several moments.

Perhaps we weren’t meant for each other, but if Inuyasha didn’t make a move soon, he may just come home to a surprise one day.
