I opened my eyes for the first time in this new life. Everything looked the same, only now I could see more clearly. Most of my human memories seem to be intact. That was certainly something I worried about before the change. My eyes were now a beautiful amber, my skin pale and ice cold just like Edward’s. I ran out into the field to test my speed. I’m extremely fast! I’m certainly glad my clumsiness didn’t pass over into this life. This change was a hard one and painful in many ways, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
