She tried to ignore the gorgeous crooked smile on his even more gorgeous face when he showed up on her doorstep that day.
When they sat down, she tried to pretend it was just a meeting between friends.
When it got late and she told him to stay, she tried to pretend she didn’t have other things on her mind.
When he stepped out of the shower in just a towel, she tried to pretend it didn’t bother her.
And when they were tumbling between the sheets she smiled and decided THIS was what she was trying for all along.
