The Ave Maria has and always will be a big part of my life. It started out as just a simple tune that I would play, but that night, with her on the ground below and I on the balcony, the song became something more. When I left for Vienna, she played it for me before I left. She still had some errors, but it made my heart swell with pride and happiness even if my face seemed devoid of emotion. When we started making calls to each other regularly in the time we were away, it became my ring tone for her. When I thought of what to get her for her birthday, I gave her among other things, a jewelry box that played the tune when she opened it. Every time, I would seem to have no emotion on the matter, but today, as the tune plays as she walks towards me in white, I allow myself to smile widely because the song that brought us together, is now allowing it to be permanent, and I want the world to know.
