She was falling for that mutt, and I wanted to catch her. I knew he still had feelings for that stupid undead woman, and Kagome deserved better. I wanted her to choose me. I knew the mutt had feelings for her too, but his former love prevented him from expanding on those feelings. Many times I have come by wanting to comfort her, as I watch her fall to her knees, knowing he will run to that undead woman again. I wanted to catch her from falling. I want to catch her not only from the scrape on her knee each time she falls in despair, but from the broken heart I know she will receive. It takes all I have not to kill the mutt for his foolishness, but I know better. It would only serve to break her heart more. Her love for him is so pure, and he just shatters her heart every time. I know he doesn’t do it intentionally, and knowing him, he’s probably totally oblivious to her feelings. But everyone else can tell. Even if you didn’t know her and she hadn’t told you personally, if you just watch them for even an hour, you can see the love in her eyes. I guess in a way Kagome and I have something in common. She wants the one who runs to his past, and I want her to be my future. But it is unrequited, and I cannot catch her to break the fall.
